Documentary, Community, Editorial, Events, Commercial, Headshots & Performance
Welcome & thanks for visiting my website.
I ventured back into education as a mature student, parenthood & studying - a challenging time indeed. I had always been a creative at heart, yet previously had followed a career in sales, of which I really enjoyed, yet it didn't fully hold my attention. I have a very visual mindset & needed to express this.
Initially studying Media - The Moving Image & Film Studies with a view to become a cinematographer/director,I further went on to be accepted onto & specialise within the Documentary Photography B/A Hons Course at the University of Wales in Caerleon, an internationally renowned course established by Magnum photographer David Hurn in 1973.
Possessing a thirst for knowledge & a curious mind! I look back & view my time there as invaluable. Extremely lucky to be there experiencing all the course had to offer, opening my mind to many different viewpoints & fascinating images. I have dyslexia related & visual issues - the support I received from the uni was fantastic!
Since 2005 I have been a freelance photographer & collaborated with various community/charitable groups. Everyone has a story to tell & I wish I had the time to visually share so many of them... it's important that I to give back to the community if I can in between my commissioned projects/work.
Possessing lots of interests can be somewhat overwhelming, however they do say "variety is the spice of life" :) My key areas are history/costume/themed/events/people,psychology & social anthropology.
I work within colour, black & white images along with footage - Multimedia. I am drawn to real life stories about people in general, communities, passions, emotion & desires along side creating artistic & unusual imagery. Spiritual Art & Symbolism is also a platform I work with.
Another key area which has always appealed to me since as early as I can recall - is crime. I have an interest in unearthing & revealing hidden truths, part of this attraction comes from my early childhood ambitions to work within the police force, armed forces & justice system. I briefly studied criminology & psychology prior to media, however I diverted from this career path due to my dyslexia issues.
Photographer influences along my journey have been Angus McBean, Diane Arbus, Authur Felig(Weegee), Enrigue Metindes, Augus Sander & Joel Peter Wilkin,

Community Projects - (slide shows)
In December 2020 the Village of Redbrook participated in a community advent calendar trail. Each day new windows appeared. I followed & captured the trail while also documenting some happy moments within the creative process throughout what has a been a very difficult time due to the recent Covid 19 pandemic.
